Fort Lauderdale, Florida | $150K+ depending on experience

A long-established and rapidly growing mechanical contractor is looking for a Senior HVAC Estimator to join its Fort Lauderdale team.

This is a high-impact opportunity to estimate major commercial HVAC projects ranging from $5M to $100M , including high-rises, schools, central plants and large chiller systems. The company is currently securing some of the largest mechanical projects in South Florida and offers a clear route into estimating leadership.

The Opportunity

You will work closely with an experienced VP of Estimating, preparing complete and competitive HVAC estimates while supporting the development of the wider estimating team.

Although this is not immediately a management position, the successful candidate could progress into an Estimating Manager role as the department continues to grow.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates for large commercial HVAC projects
• Complete quantity take-offs and develop labor, material and equipment pricing
• Review drawings, specifications, addenda and subcontractor proposals
• Identify scope gaps, risks, exclusions and value-engineering opportunities
• Obtain and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing
• Support bid reviews, presentations and project handovers
• Assist and provide guidance to junior estimators
• Build relationships with vendors, subcontractors and internal project teams

Requirements

• 7+ years of heavy-commercial HVAC estimating experience
• Direct experience working for a mechanical xhyhwjd contractor
• Strong knowledge of large HVAC systems, including central plants and chilled-water systems
• Experience estimating projects valued at $5M or more
• Ability to produce estimates independently with minimal training
• Strong understanding of labor productivity, equipment pricing and mechanical scope
• Stable employment history preferred
