Multifamily Construction Superintendent - North Jersey

Overview A leading real estate development and construction firm is seeking a Lead Superintendent to oversee ground-up, wood-frame multifamily projects in Northern New Jersey. This role is responsible for on-site execution, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards. Client Details Our client is a vertically integrated real estate development and construction organization with a strong presence across the Northeast. With a robust pipeline of multifamily developments, they are known for delivering large-scale residential communities and maintaining long-term investments in their assets. Responsibilities Lead all on-site construction operations for ground-up, wood-frame multifamily projects Manage subcontractors, site staff, and field coordination to ensure project milestones are met Drive project schedules, including short-interval planning and look-ahead schedules Enforce strict site safety standards and ensure full compliance with local and company regulations Coordinate daily with Project Management teams to address RFIs, submittals, and change orders Oversee quality control throughout all phases of construction Conduct regular site meetings and provide progress updates to internal and external stakeholders Ensure timely inspections and successful closeout of projects Profile / Qualifications 8+ years of construction experience with a strong focus on ground-up multifamily projects Proven experience leading wood-frame (Type III/V) construction builds Prior experience as a Lead or Senior Superintendent on projects valued $30M+, 100+ Units Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, scheduling, and site logistics Demonstrated leadership ability with a hands-on management style Excellent communication and coordination skills with both field and office teams OSHA certification preferred What We Offer Competitive base salary up to $165K + performance-based bonus Comprehensive benefits package (health, dental, vision) 401(k) with company contribution Long-term pipeline of projects offering stability and growth Opportunity to lead high-profile multifamily developments within a well-capitalized organization Equal Employment Opportunity MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
