About the Position

Job Title: Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist Profession: Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist Specialty: - Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day shift Hours per Shift: 40 hours per week, 1 night per week call, and 1 weekend per month call Experience: Significant cath experience required License: NYS Radiology Technologist license Certifications: ARRT(R), BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross) Must-Have: Significant cath experience as they would be required to take STEMI call on their own Description: Performs routine to complex diagnostic and therapeutic technical procedures under the direction of a physician in the Cardiac Cath Lab. Customers served include employees, medical staff, patients, and regulatory agencies. Priority will be given to activities that directly affect customer service. Complies with the Interventional Cardiology departmental on-call policy. Provides technical support for all Cath Lab procedures, including catheterizations, angioplasty, structural heart procedures, peripheral angiography, temp pacemaker insertion, and LV assist device insertions. Responsible for technical support and clinical assistance, both sterile and non-sterile, of procedures including catheterizations, angioplasty, structural heart procedures, peripheral angiography, temp pacemaker insertion, and LV assist device insertions. Operates required advanced imaging equipment using established guidelines and imaging protocols for interventional and non-interventional patient procedures. Ensures proper safety standards are met, and radiation safety practices are adhered to. Instructs students and residents and performs preceptor duties when necessary. Performs quality assurance checks on equipment. Assists in maintaining supply inventory for all Cath Lab procedures. Demonstrates working knowledge of information systems. Demonstrates knowledge of coding procedures for accurate billing of all Cath Lab procedures. Learns new techniques and technology by attending lectures, seminars, and educational readings. Will perform other duties as assigned.
