Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Behavioral Health Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Third Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (7 PM - 7 AM) Experience: No experience required License: Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Accepts responsibility for words, actions, attitude, and results while meeting deadlines and performance expectations. Description: The RN implements professional nursing practice centered on the patient as a whole person. The focus is on creating a caring environment that promotes healing and wellness. Responsibilities include conducting nursing rounds, assessments, and treatments. Facilitates admission, transfer, and discharge activities. Provides patient and family-centered education and individualized treatment planning. Performs and documents comprehensive assessments according to scope of practice and policies. Considers the patient’s culture, age, and developmental level in assessments. Identifies patient risk factors and collects both objective and subjective data. Develops a problem list and prioritizes patient needs based on input from the healthcare team. Designs actions and interventions relevant to the patient’s culture and age. Determines desired outcomes in coordination with the patient and family in accordance with the medical plan of care. Ensures full implementation of patient care therapies and procedures while adhering to established policies and professional guidelines. Explains procedures, treatments, and processes to the patient and family. Initiates action to alleviate the patient’s stress and discomfort. Recognizes, responds to, and communicates changes in patient condition appropriately. Monitors accuracy and completeness of delegated patient care tasks provided by team members. Identifies and addresses educational needs of patients related to prioritized problems. Facilitates the patient discharge process by executing discharge orders and coordinating with case management. Promotes a positive group dynamic and healing environment through effective communication and actions. Actively participates in department and unit quality improvement activities and core measures. Uses a holistic perspective regarding patient care. Maintains adherence to accepted standards, evidence-based practice, and caring philosophy.
