This role requires a strong background in caring for patients with a variety of conditions, including but not limited to congestive heart failure (CHF), respiratory distress, acute coronary syndrome (ACS), atrial fibrillation with rapid ventricular response (A-fib RVR), diabetes mellitus (DM), and stroke (CVA) overflow. The position also involves managing patients in both ICU and telemetry settings. Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients, including monitoring and assessing vital signs. Administer medications and manage intravenous drips, including diltiazem, amiodarone, Lasix, nitroglycerin, and heparin. Perform wound care, dressing changes, and monitor chest tubes and wound vacs. Handle blood product administration as needed. Monitor patients with femoral arterial sheaths and provide care for post-catheterization patients. Assist surgical patients, including those from vascular, abdominal, and gastrointestinal surgeries. Qualifications Must have at least two years of clinical nursing experience. Experience with the following patient types: CHF, respiratory distress, ACS, A-fib RVR, DM, and CVA overflow. Familiarity with managing chest tubes, wound vacs, dressing changes, and femoral arterial sheaths. Preferred experience with arterial lines, Impella, and IABP. Current certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS). Work Environment This position operates in a community hospital with a total of 226 beds, including 11 ICU beds. Nurses may be required to float to various units at the ICU level or below.
