As a member of this team, you will have the opportunity to leverage your expertise in IPS engineering to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security of the JTAGS mission systems. You will collaborate with talented professionals from diverse backgrounds to solve complex logistics challenges and drive innovation in support of our mission critical objectives. We cover a variety of expertise within the IPS domain. This includes logistics, sustainment, field support personnel, technical documentation, and training.The Joint Tactical Ground Station (JTAGS) program within Northrop Grumman Defense Systems was developed and built by Northrop Grumman for the U.S. Army but has since transitioned to the USSF. JTAGS receives and processes data directly down-linked from the Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) constellation of satellites, including Defense Support Program (DSP) and Space Based Infrared System (SBIRS) sensors, and other infrared satellite sensors. JTAGS then disseminates near-real-time warning, alerting and cueing information on ballistic missile launches and other tactical events of interest throughout the theater using multiple communications networks.The IPS Lead is responsible for directing the execution of the overall IPS effort on the program. The IPS Lead is also responsible for planning, managing, and coordinating total, cradle to grave product management to support a complex theater missile warning system. The IPS Lead interfaces with the Program Manager, Chief Engineer, Chief Architect, SEIT Lead, IPT leads, as well as the customer.Essential Functions:Design, develop and manage IPS including planning, coordination of resources and the support solution for products and IPS requirements in a timely and professional manner to ensure customer satisfaction. Develops, refines, analyzes, and issues logistics policies for the programKnowledge of the policies, practices, regulations, and laws concerning the acquisition and logistics management processes and initiatives.Knowledge of the application of a wide range of qualitative and quantitative assessment methods.Skill in staff planning, organizing, and overseeing critical aspects of development, production, and support of systems, subsystems, or equipment.Ability to integrate, analyze, and manage a variety of logistics functions in support of research, development, production, and support of a system, subsystem, or equipment.Providing IPS administration, including supply, purchasing, provisioning, design, reliability, validation, and maintainability analysis of complex mechanical or electro-mechanical systems/equipment per DOD requirements.Determine the support requirements within a project and define the tasks and associated resources required to ensure the most appropriate support strategy and solution. Responsibility for the definition and estimation of IPS proposals that are compliant to customer requirements.Interpret statements of work assigned by program leadership.Develop and execute to meet project budgets and schedules, including critical path management, Estimates-at-Completion (EACs), and workload forecasts.Manage project timelines to budget, resources, and deliverables for systems engineering initiatives.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between system architecture, software development, and business objectives.Perform in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree with 6 years of experience in supply chain and/or logistics field, a Master's degree with 5 years of experience or a PhD with 4 years of experience.Knowledge of automated logistics systems, preferably SAP systems. Experience overseeing procurement activities and managing material budgets.Experience with RMA actions for failures or repairs in coordination with GSC and program teams.Experience leading technical teams of 5-10 personnel.Demonstrated Functional Management experience.Ability to work 100% on-site full-time in Colorado Springs, CO.Active DoD Secret security clearance investigated within the last 5 years, with the ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret/SCI approval/access.Experience in the Logistician/Logistics Engineering field which includes working with US Government supply chain processes and shipping Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) in accordance with U.S. government import/export requirements.Knowledge of the twelve Integrated Product Support (IPS) Elements with a focus on Product Support Management, Sustaining Engineering, Supply Support, Maintenance Planning and Management, Packaging, Handling, Storage, and Transportation (PHS&T), Technical Data, Support Equipment, and Training & Training.Preferred Qualifications:An active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance a time of application, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI approval/access.Experience directly managing or leading engineering teams and strong cross-functional team leadership and communication skills.Fluency with developing and executing project schedules.Problem-solving experience in a team environment.Experience leading the performance of technical tasks on schedule, at cost and achieving all requirements.Demonstrated effectiveness in achieving results through managing people and understanding and management of internal processes and customer/supplier relationships.Strong oral and written communication skills, including demonstrated experience with high value customer presentations, with ability to focus on multiple projects with competing priorities.Ability to collaborate and achieve consensus when dealing with groups from diverse organizations and backgrounds.Demonstrated experience in making sound decisions in uncertain and difficult situations.Strong sense of urgency and work ethic in ensuring engineering meets customer and program expectations in a timely and efficient manner.Primary Level Salary Range: $121,000.00 - $181,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
