The Medical Assistant will be an advocate for the patient's needs by collaborating with both the patient and their care team to ensure that the patient is comfortable throughout their healthcare journey at Sanford. As a Medical Assistant, you can look forward to creating strong bonds with your patients and co-workers and have multiple opportunities for growth and development.Responsibilities:Collects subjective and objective health status data from the patient or caregiver and communicates data to healthcare providerFollows through on the patient's plan of care under the direction of the providerCommunicates the provider's written instructions for care to the patient, or caregiverParticipates in care for patients, across the lifespan, in all phases of preventative care, health maintenance, treatment, and follow-up as patients move in and out of care settingsObtains vital signs, prepares patients for examinations, observes and reports patient's signs or symptoms, and performs point of care testingQualifications:Must be a graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant program.Prior experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.Nationally certified or registered as a Medical Assistant (MA).Registration (RMA) obtained through the American Medical Technologists (AMT) also acceptable.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within six months of employment.Sanford offers an attractive benefits package for qualifying full-time and part-time employees.
