Sr. Maritime Electrical Manager

Job Title: Sr. Maritime Electrical Manager Location: North Kingstown, Rhode Island Type: Direct Hire Compensation: (none provided) Contractor Work Model: Onsite – onsite Responsibilities Lead the electrical engineering team in the design, integration, and delivery of shipboard electrical systems for new vessel construction and refit projects. Review and approve all electrical drawings and documentation ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards such as ABS and USCG. Supervise and mentor a team of electrical engineers and designers, assigning tasks and setting priorities to ensure timely deliverables. Coordinate with naval architects, mechanical engineers, and production teams to integrate electrical systems with other shipboard systems. Participate in project planning, scheduling, and progress reviews to ensure project milestones are met. Ensure all electrical designs meet regulatory standards, overseeing quality checks and resolving technical issues during construction and commissioning. Identify opportunities for process improvements, implement best practices, and address design challenges and field discrepancies promptly. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum 5–7 years of experience in shipyard or maritime electrical engineering, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role. Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical and familiarity with ShipConstructor or similar software. Strong knowledge of shipboard electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, automation, and communication systems. Ability to interpret and apply ABS/Coast Guard rules and regulations. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Experience with PLC programming, power management systems, and advanced technology integration (preferred). Familiarity with shipyard workflows and safety protocols (preferred). Ability to manage multiple projects and maintain up-to-date documentation.
