Registered Nurse (RN) – Hospice Inpatient Care Center VNA Hospice NWI
Location: Valparaiso, Indiana
Job Types: Full-Time and Part-Time
Shifts Available: Days, Evenings, and Midnights
VNA Hospice NWI is seeking dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our team at our 6-bed inpatient hospice care center. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about providing exceptional end-of-life care and supporting patients and families with dignity, comfort, and respect.
Whether you are looking for full-time or part-time opportunities, we offer flexible scheduling with day, evening, and midnight shifts available.
Position SummaryThe Inpatient Hospice RN provides skilled nursing care to hospice patients requiring symptom management and end-of-life care within our inpatient facility. The RN works collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to ensure patients receive compassionate, individualized care that promotes comfort and quality of life.
Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care according to hospice standards.
- Monitor and manage pain and symptoms to ensure patient comfort.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Collaborate with physicians, social workers, chaplains, nursing assistants, and other interdisciplinary team members.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Respond effectively to changes in patient condition.
- Ensure a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for patients and families.
Qualifications
- Current Indiana Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Previous hospice, palliative care, oncology, long-term care, ICU, ER, or acute care experience preferred.
- Strong assessment, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
