Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Special Education Teacher role located in Austin, TX. The Special Education Teacher will design and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) aligned with students’ needs, instructional goals, and curriculum standards. Responsibilities include delivering differentiated instruction, adapting materials and assessments, and using accommodations and modifications to support learners with a range of disabilities. The educator will collaborate closely with general education teachers, related service providers, families, and campus staff to monitor progress and adjust instructional strategies. Daily duties also include maintaining accurate documentation, participating in IEP meetings, managing classroom behavior using positive supports, and fostering an inclusive, safe learning environment that promotes academic, social, and emotional growth. Qualifications Experience teaching in K–12 settings, preferably at the middle school level, with demonstrated skill in planning and delivering engaging instruction (Teaching, Middle School). Knowledge of special education practices, laws, and compliance requirements, including developing and implementing IEPs and using evidence-based interventions (Special Education). Ability to support students with a variety of disabilities, including understanding of accommodations, modifications, and assistive strategies (Disabilities). Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaborating with students, families, colleagues, and multidisciplinary teams, both in writing and in person (Communication). State teaching certification or eligibility in Special Education (or closely related field), with a bachelor’s degree or higher in Education, Special Education, or a related discipline. Demonstrated classroom management skills that promote a positive, inclusive environment and support social-emotional learning. Comfort using educational technology and data to monitor progress, inform instruction, and document services.
