Commercial Kitchen Equipment Service Technician - Construction

As a Commercial Kitchen Equipment Service Technician, you will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain restaurant equipment, ensuring safe operation and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities Install new commercial kitchen equipment, including dishwashers, conveyors, ovens, stoves, kettles, fryers, steamers, and ice machines. Diagnose equipment performance through observation, testing, and setup. Disassemble and re‑assemble equipment for troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repair. Operate hand tools, power tools, gauges, and measuring equipment to service units. Lift, carry, pull, and push components or equipment to test, set up, or maintain equipment. Give and receive written and verbal instructions. Complete documents to verify work performed. Work flexible hours as required. Qualifications and Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Burn and fire watch certificates a plus. Knowledge and experience with plumbing, electrical, and copper work related to new installations. Diagnostic ability demonstrated through a minimum of 2 years’ experience and/or training in commercial cooking equipment such as fryers and grills. Ability to use a variety of meters, measuring instruments, torches, and hand tools. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Works independently, under pressure, and without close supervision; willing and able to work the required schedule. Can exert up to 100 pounds of force regularly and up to 50 pounds frequently. Can stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, twist, and grasp to perform essential job functions. Tolerates environmental conditions of extreme heat, cold, noise, vibration, fumes, dust, and poor ventilation. Average hourly pay rate: $28 – $30.
