Position Title: Program Director BC Geriatric Psychiatrist

Location: Shreveport, LA
Opportunity to start Geriatric Fellowship Program! This role offers a unique blend of clinical excellence, academic engagement, and strategic leadership. As Director, you ll oversee a dynamic inpatient team, shape the future of geriatric psychiatric care, and collaborate with LSU Health and regional academic institutions to mentor the next generation of clinicians.

• Role: Hospital Academic Service Director BC Geriatric Psychiatrist. Academic partnership potential with LSU Health Shreveport and other institutions
\n
• Patient Population: Geriatric
\n
• Schedule: Monday-Friday, daytime hours. Onsite preferred, remote option negotiable
\n
• Weekend Coverage: 1:5 Saturday/Sunday rounding.
\n
• Weekday Call: One evening call shift per week by phone only.
\n
• Employment Type: Full-time employed position.
\n
• Additional earnings potential: Extra call options and Productivity Bonus Plan.
\n

\n

Key Responsibilities:

\n

\n
• Mentorship, teaching, program development, and staff supervision.
\n
• Conduct admission evaluations, develop treatment plans, and provide ongoing treatment follow-up for geriatric/senior adult patients.
\n
• Participate in medical administrative meetings as assigned.
\n
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care.
\n
• Complete required patient documentation and notes in accordance with facility guidelines.
\n

Qualifications:

\n

• Education: M.D./D.O. with Board Certification in Geriatric Psychiatry.
\n
• Training: Successful completion of an accredited Psychiatry residency and Geriatric fellowship program.
\n
• Licensure: Louisiana medical license in good standing or eligibility to obtain it.
\n
