Job Title: Packaging Engineer - Devices Location: Somerset, New Jersey Type: Direct Hire Compensation: $130,000.00 - $145,000.00 Contractor Work Model: Onsite Hours: 40.0 Responsibilities Lead end-to-end packaging development: design, prototyping, testing, and validation. Collaborate with product development to troubleshoot device/packaging issues (e.g., heat-related components, material performance). Develop and improve packaging systems for heated/diffusion-based devices (e.g., fragrance, liquid/oil delivery systems). Conduct packaging tests (ASTM/ISTA), analyze results, and implement improvements. Work cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to ensure scalability and quality. Support supplier selection, specifications, and production readiness. Must-Have Experience 5+ years in packaging or mechanical engineering (consumer or industrial products). Experience with device-based systems involving heat + liquid/oil diffusion (required). Strong background in structural packaging design and prototyping. CAD proficiency (SolidWorks preferred) and experience with rapid prototyping/3D printing. Knowledge of packaging validation standards (ASTM, ISTA, ISO). Experience troubleshooting materials, plastics, and heat-related performance issues. Nice-to-Have Experience Experience in fragrance, air care, home scent, or similar categories.
