Tenure: 3 years + 2 renewable years


Work Location : Elgin Mental Health Center, 750 S. State, Elgin, Il 60123

Due Date: 11/14/2025

Performance: Onsite


Scope of work:


Under administrative direction of the Mental Health Center Hospital Administrator, the physician serves as the Medical Director of Mental Health Center; supervises medical staff; maintains the overall quality of clinical care provided to the individuals at the facility, including planning, staff administration and implementation of medical treatment regimens, individual care programs and services of the facility. Develops, implements, and monitors policies and procedures related to established standards for individual care, medical ethics, and licensing/regulations.


Requirements:

• Requires an Illinois license to practice medicine and an American Board of Medical Specialties Certification, or its equivalent, in Psychiatry.
• Requires three years of substantive medical administrative experience in directing, planning, and evaluating a medical/clinical program.
• Requires ability to supervise and coordinate staff and activities of other professional disciplines.
• Requires ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with various professional disciplines.
• Verification of License and outlined experience above shall be provided by the vendor when presenting a qualified candidate
• Mental Health Center reserves the right to set the work schedule for the Medical Director. Routinely, work hours will be 40 hours per week, between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday
