We have multiple openings available for full-time benefited positions at Scripps Clinic Rancho Bernardo. These positions follow an 8-hour day shift schedule, working Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional Saturday shifts from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Why join Scripps Health? What you'll do:

• Predominantly back-office responsibilities but is expected to help with front-office duties
• Rooming patients, checking vitals, assisting with procedures
• Clinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocols
• Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment
• Organizes and performs patient care services that support the physician's practice
• Relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person
• Collecting patient data in person and by phone
• Documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review
• Administering medications specifically directed by the physician
• Scheduling of appointments and procedures
• Complete and accurate message taking
• Routing messages to the appropriate area for direction
• Order and referral entry, acquisition of pre-certifications
• Setting up of cases in EPIC plus basic registration and updating of demographics

Required Qualifications:

• Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program OR hold a Medical Assistant Certification OR have a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsman
• BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA)

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2 or more years of experience working as Medical Assistant Primary Care, Family Practice, Pediatric experience
