Environmental Control Systems Engineer – Level 2 At Lockheed Martin Aeronautics, we are taking innovation to the next level. The primary focus of this role is on Environmental Control Systems (ECS) engineering for the AMMM line of business platforms, including the C‑130 and C‑5 aircraft. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, production and sustainment support, operational improvement of aircraft Air Conditioning, Ice & Rain Protection, Pneumatic Systems, and Engine Bleed Air. The engineer will drive production and sustainment solutions such as design improvements, software updates, drawing changes, data review, report drafting, System Integration Lab testing, and investigations of nonconformances. Leveraging data and trend analysis is essential to driving operational improvements. Effective verbal and written communication skills are required to liaise with internal engineering teams, program management, and customers. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or a related discipline; or equivalent experience/combined education. Experience with one or more aircraft Environmental Control Systems, such as Air Conditioning, Ice Protection, Pneumatic Systems, Engine Bleed Air, or Propulsion Systems. Desired Skills Preparing Supplier Statements of Work (SSOWs), Development Specifications, and Source/Specification Control Drawings. Aircraft system root‑cause corrective action (RCCA) activity. Vendor management and technical oversight of supplier components. Experience with large transport aircraft Environmental Control Systems. Data and trend analysis, including data regression. Drawing practices and manufacturing processes. Control Account Manager (CAM)/Earned Value Management (EVMS) experience. Security Clearance Must be a U.S. citizen.
