Rn Treatment NurseTo provide nursing care to residents as prescribed by the physician and in accordance with standards of nursing practices, regulations and directed by the Director of Nursing. To lead or direct licensed and non-professional staff in the delivery of direct Resident care and support functions.Essential Functions:Utilize working knowledge of the basic principles of infection control and wound careDemonstrate competence in providing wound care that is sterile and/or asepticApply knowledge and understanding of the special needs of the geriatric client and the geriatric client's skinRemain free of any communicable disease and must maintain hands with clean, non-jagged nails which are of appropriate length to assure residents are cared for in a risk free mannerProvide wound care (bandaging, cleaning, applying medication) and assess for appropriateness of bandage integrity during time between dressing changesAssure availability of treatment supplies and topical medications (as prescribed by the physician) and procure supplies to assure adequate inventory or Treatment Cart is readily available at all timesProvide gastrostomy tube feeding care, including necessary bandage changesProvide colostomy and urostomy care and dressings as directed by the physicianProvide weekly documentationComply with facility guidelines for documentation and physician's ordersRelate well to patients, families and other team membersInteract well with therapists and implements individual programs as developedMaintain equipment and supplies for treatmentMaintain consistent patient care schedule and uses time efficientlyCoordinate restorative treatments with other facility departmentsPerform duties with a minimum of supervisionIdentify potential problems/issues and report to supervisor in a timely mannerMaintain a professional approach with confidentialitySupportive facility goals and objectivesUse system to convey/receive resident informationCooperate and maintain good rapport with nursing staff, medical staff, other departments, and visitorsObtain and document nursing history from the patient and/or significant other that is comprehensive of present condition and prior problemsPerform basic assessment of the patient, indicating adequate knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathologyRecord vital signs, note changes, and pursue more-specific investigation as neededAssess for and notify physician and other appropriate parties of changes in conditionUse assessment information to develop a care plan before the end of duty time that communicates enough information for incoming personnel to adequately care for the patientUse care plans as a basis for providing safe and therapeutic care to patientsConsistently follow established standards, policies, and procedures in providing nursing careAccept accountability for clinical care of assigned patients, including supervision of nonprofessional personnelCommunicate with the patient and his or her family and other members of the health care team in carrying out the goals of the care planPerform competently those technical skills considered basic to the type of care given on that unitRespond appropriately in urgent and/or emergency situationsSupport standards of nursing care through adherence to existing policies and proceduresSeek guidance when encountering nursing procedures and responsibilities that have not been masteredPromote positive public relations with patients, residents, family members and guestsUse tactful, appropriate communications in sensitive and emotional situationsUse appropriate workplace behavior and adhere to dress code at all timesUnderstand and adhere to the guidelines of "Residents Rights" and assure resident safetyQualifications:Required:Current RN licenseCPR certified required; 30 days will be given to complete a course and get certifiedAbility to understand, remember and carry out verbal or written instructions in EnglishAbility to complete assignments in a timely mannerAbility to work flexibly and positively with intermittent interruptionsPreferred:2 years nursing experience in long term care/skilled nursingPhysical Requirements: The ability to safely perform movements such as pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, kneeling, and reaching up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations.Work Schedule: As assigned, including some weekends, evenings and holidays.Work Environment: Clinical.Caraday Healthcare provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetics, or any other characteristic protected by law.
