CNC Setup Operator

CNC Setup Operator Duties and responsibilities Reads Programs, Identify Errors, Sets Up Machines, Performs Offsets on turning machine centers Selects appropriate work holding and secures the workpiece in the CNC Loads and secures cutting tools Set up and operation of machine and observes cutting operation Compares completed workpiece with blueprint with regards to specific metric measurements based on pre-determined inspection cycle for the product Alerts lead of any non-compliant completed workpiece prior to continuing production Accurately completes required quality and production control documents Setting new tooling and offsetting tool/program as required Repeats the operation of the machine to complete the job order Notifies lead of any unusual occurrences with the machine, tooling or workpiece Performs Basic Machine Maintenance Functions Follows all safety procedures regarding the proper operation of the machine Sets up and operates CMM with existing programs Performs other duties as may be required or assigned Identifies Errors Preset Tools Check for tool wear, breakage and/or tool life monitoring system Deburring Understands all aspects of Deburring Ability to perform the functions of Machine Operator. Qualifications High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three to five years related experience And/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to set up and operator CNC machining centers Language Skills Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos Ability to write short correspondence Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group Mathematical Skills Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide Ability to perform these operations using English and Metric units of measure or currency, as well as converting between the two Reasoning Ability Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations Computer Skills Basic computer skills Computer Skills Basic computer skills Working conditions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
