Business Operations & Analytics Manager

Position Summary

The Business Operations & Analytics Manager provides analytical, reporting, and operational support across the organization. The position is responsible for recurring and ad hoc reporting, data analysis, assigned data-related business processes, and investigating issues that require analysis across multiple systems or departments.

This position works closely with Operations, Sales, Finance, and Enterprise Systems to support business needs, improve processes, and ensure the organization uses accurate, timely, and meaningful information.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and produce recurring and ad hoc reports and analyses for leadership, Sales, Operations, Finance, and other departments.
• Analyze business and operational data to identify trends, inconsistencies, and areas requiring further investigation.
• Work directly with business users to understand reporting and analytical needs and determine appropriate solutions.
• Manage assigned recurring data uploads, reporting processes, and other data-related operational functions.
• Investigate data and reporting discrepancies, identify root causes, and coordinate resolution with appropriate internal or external resources.
• Review reporting outputs for completeness, accuracy, and reasonableness before distribution or downstream processing.
• Manage assigned rebate data uploads and reporting processes, including reviewing source data and reporting outputs before downstream processing.
• Develop a detailed understanding of company programs, customer relationships, sales processes, and other business operations in order to interpret data within the appropriate business context.
• Partner with the Enterprise Systems Manager on data issues, reporting requirements, system enhancements, and opportunities for automation.
• Identify opportunities to improve, simplify, or automate existing reports and operational processes.
• Document key reporting and operational processes and maintain procedures for critical functions.
• Provide backup coverage for designated reporting, data, and operational processes to support business continuity.
• Coordinate with internal departments and external vendors as needed to resolve data, reporting, and business-process issues.
• Support special projects and other analytical or operational initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, analytics, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
• 5+ years of experience in business analysis, operations analysis, reporting, data analysis, or a related role.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with large or complex datasets.
• Experience working with databases, reporting systems, and business applications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to independently investigate unfamiliar issues, determine what information is needed, and develop an appropriate course of action.
• Ability to work effectively when a problem or request does not have a defined process or predetermined solution.
• Ability to recognize when data, reporting, or business results are inconsistent with expectations and independently investigate the underlying cause.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, business requirements, systems, and processes.
• Ability to learn new business concepts, systems, and processes with limited formal instruction.
• Sound judgment in determining when to resolve an issue independently and when additional technical, operational, or management involvement is needed.
• Ability to interpret data within the context of business operations rather than relying solely on system-generated results.
• Ability to understand, document, and improve business processes.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy while maintaining an understanding of broader business objectives.
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and nontechnical employees at all levels of the organization.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft Access, Power BI, SQL, or similar database and reporting tools.
• Experience supporting Sales, Operations, or other cross-functional business teams.
• Experience with CRM, financial, rebate, or other transactional data.
• Experience working in a small or mid-sized organization with broad, cross-functional responsibilities.
