Position Title Post Doctoral Scholar Department Medicine | Neurology Overview We are inviting applications for 2 postdoctoral positions in our laboratory at The Ohio State University, Wexner Medical Center, Department of Neurology & Neuroscience Research Institute. Our lab focuses on axon‑glia interactions and how glial metabolism regulates axon integrity and myelination. Current projects include in‑vivo and in‑vitro mechanistic studies on metabolic perturbations in oligodendrocytes and research on metabolic adaptations in Schwann cells. Responsibilities Pursue specialized research training, education, and experience under the guidance of a scientific mentor in the Department of Neurology. Plan, design, and execute experiments of considerable scope and complexity. Collect and analyze data for research sponsored by appropriate agencies and institutions. Identify and select problems to be studied; develop and troubleshoot new experimental techniques and protocols. Attend research seminars and contribute to manuscript preparation and technical writing. Participate in the preparation of grant applications for extramural funding and perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Passion for science and discovery. At least one first‑authored publication in press. Experience working with murine models in a laboratory setting. PhD in biomedical sciences with less than three years post‑doctoral experience. Highly motivated with strong communication, language, and writing skills. Doctoral degree in Biological Sciences. Successful completion of a background check required. Possible pre‑employment physical and drug screen. Location Biomedical Research Tower (0112) Employment Type Term (Fixed Term) Hours & Shift 40 hours weekly, First Shift.
