Medical Laboratory Scientist I

Job OverviewPay Range: $30.00hr - $40.00hrRequirement/Must Have:Bachelor's degree required, degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry strongly preferred.1+ years of clinical experience (high complexity testing) preferred.Experience with LC-MS or ICP-MS strongly preferred.Transcripts will be requested for review throughout consideration process.Responsibilities:Follow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test result.Maintain records that demonstrate that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens.Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures.Review and release test results.Follow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines as described in their respective guidelines.Follow the laboratory's established policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory's established acceptable levels of performance.Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results, correct the problems encountered or immediately notify the senior technologist or supervisor.Nice to Have:Experience with LC-MS or ICP-MS.Clinical experience in high complexity testing.Skills:Medical Laboratory Science.Specimen Handling.Test Analysis.CLIA Compliance.HIPAA Compliance.OSHA Guidelines.LC-MS.ICP-MS.Chemistry.Biochemistry.Qualification And Education:Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field.Clinical laboratory experience.Physical Requirements (Due to nature of job, The candidate must have):Ability to lift and carry objects 1 to 10 pounds frequently.Ability to lift and carry objects 11 to 25 pounds occasionally.Ability to lift and carry objects 36 to 50 pounds seldom.Ability to stand and work at the bench for long periods of time.Ability to walk and stand frequently.
