Sr. Civil/Roadway Engineer

Job Description Senior Roadway Engineers are needed to join the Centreville, VA, and Washington, DC offices and contribute to roadway and civil engineering projects across the DC region. The role involves projects in both conventional and design-build roadway programs. Key Responsibilities Perform conventional and complex highway/roadway engineering tasks efficiently and accurately. Serve as a lead engineer for specific disciplines on small, intermediate, and large‑sized projects or contribute as part of a larger project team. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to CAD designers/drafters, designers, and junior and mid‑level engineers. Plan and design roadway facilities that prioritize safety, reliability, resource efficiency, and cost‑effectiveness. Develop engineering computations, material quantity take‑offs, cost estimates, surveys, and designs. Foster cooperative and productive relationships with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders. Qualifications Experience: 8‑15 years of related highway/roadway engineering design experience. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (required). Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is highly preferred. Software Skills: Proficiency in MS Office, MicroStation, and industry‑standard roadway design and analysis software. Preferred Experience: Familiarity with VDOT and DDOT standards and practices. Work Environment This position offers a hybrid work arrangement based in our Centreville, VA, or Washington, DC office.
