Job Description:Job Description:2nd Shift Supervisor (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM)Position SummaryThe Supervisor at Wastebuilt Mt. Sterling, KY location, oversees day-to-day parts picking distribution center operations with a strong focus on safety compliance, building security, KPI performance, time management, inventory control, and workforce scheduling. This role ensures work is performed efficiently and safely, in alignment with company policies, quality standards, and performance expectations.Key ResponsibilitiesSafetyResponsible for building security during 2nd shiftEnforce company safety policies and OSHA requirementsLead regular safety meetings, audits, and inspectionsIdentify hazards and implement corrective and preventive actionsEnsure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practicesReport, investigate, and document incidents, near misses, and injuries; follow through on corrective actionsTime Management & ProductivityMonitor daily operations to meet production goals, KPIs, and deadlinesAssign work and balance labor resources to maximize efficiencyUnderstand and manage key performance indicators (KPIs), including how to create, interpret, and track performance measuresSupport high-volume pick/pack/load operations and multiple-volume shipments to meet daily shipping requirementsReduce downtime by addressing workflow constraints and removing bottlenecksTrack attendance, punctuality, and performance; address issues promptlyEnsure compliance with company timekeeping and attendance policiesInventory ControlUtilize ERP systems to support inventory transactions, reporting, and operational decision-makingMaintain inventory accuracy for parts, materials, and suppliesPerform cycle counts and support periodic physical inventories; research and resolve variancesEnsure accurate receiving, proper storage, and timely issuing of materialsTroubleshot handheld devices used for picking, packing, and inventory transactions; escalate issues as neededMinimize shrinkage, waste, and damage through organization, controls, and accountabilityScheduling & StaffingReview and approve time-off requests; adjust schedules to maintain coverageSupervise and direct a team of up to 15 employees across picking, packing, loading, and related warehouse functionsTrain, coach, and develop team members to build capability and accountabilitySupport hiring and onboarding; partner with management/HR on corrective and disciplinary actions as neededLeadership & CommunicationLead by example and maintain a positive, professional work environmentMake decisions autonomously to maintain workflow, service levels, and safety compliance during assigned shiftsCommunicate expectations, priorities, and changes clearly to team membersProvide regular coaching, feedback, and performance evaluationsEnsure policies, procedures, and standard work are followed consistentlyQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred2–5 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial operationsExperience in a pick/pack/load distribution environment, including multiple-volume shipmentsUnderstanding of KPIs (how to create, interpret, and track key performance indicators)Strong knowledge of safety regulations and safe work practicesExperience with inventory management systems (ERP/WMS preferred)Ability to troubleshoot handheld scanning devices and basic warehouse technology issuesForklift experience (maintenance and operation) preferred but not requiredProven leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skillsAbility to make decisions autonomously and prioritize work in a fast-paced distribution environmentExperience supervising teams of up to 15 employeesStandard schedule is 2nd shift (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM);
