CDL Driver

CDL DriverAs a CDL Driver at SSS Holdings, LLC, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods using a flatbed truck, or tractor and flatbed trailer. This role involves loading, securing, and unloading cargo, as well as adhering to transportation regulations and ensuring the integrity of the transported items. CDL drivers play a crucial role in the logistics and supply chain delivering a variety of steel products.Primary Responsibilities:Check in and out with your supervisor daily for all work assignmentsSafe operation of tractor/trailerSecure cargo using straps, and rachetsComplete shipping and delivery paperwork accurately and on timeCompliance with all regulationsReport any accidents, incidents, or safety violations promptlyMaintain communication with supervisors, sales, and customers as requiredEquipment maintenance, required pre and post trip inspectionsMaintain all daily records, HOS, DVIR, proof of deliveries and fuel receiptsPhysical & Work Requirements:Continuous communication with different departments and our transportation networkAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, moderately stressful, constantly changing day-to-day work environmentLoad securement using rachets and strapsRequired Background, Competencies & Expertise:Valid Commercial Driver's License with appropriate endorsementsValid Medical CardExcellent driving recordFamiliarity with relevant transportation regulations and safety standardsPhysical fitness and the ability to lift, carry and secure heavy and oversized loadsKnowledge of securing different types of cargo, including oversized loadsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAccountabilitySafetyIntegrity and trustResponsibilityPreferred Background, Competencies & Expertise:1 year of driving experience1 year of flatbed experienceBenefits:Home weekends!Home every night!Uniform program, boots, and personal protective equipment.Company covers about 80% of the cost of medical insurance for you and your familyCompany covers 100% of the cost for both short and long-term disability insurance policies401k retirement contributionChildren of long-term employees can apply for company scholarshipsPaid personal time available for use as it accrues (max of one week per year)One week of paid vacation after 6 monthsTwo weeks of paid vacation after one yearState Steel Supply Company buys steel and sells it to large customers that make products like farm equipment, powerline towers, storage tanks, and more.
