We build and deploy the technology stack that powers Anduril's shipbuilding factories: the data infrastructure that makes every machine and sensor visible in real time, the manufacturing execution system that workers and planners use every shift, the scheduling engine that replans production in minutes instead of days, and the AI systems that remove manual toil from the shop floor and business operations. MDP operates at the boundary between Operational Technology and Information Technology, incubating solutions close to the production line, validating them with real operators, hardening them for reliability and security, and scaling them across sites. The environment is fast, physical, and consequential. When our systems go down, production stops. The output of our work is not a dashboard: it is a ship. MDP is scaling from a founding team to more than 70 engineers across multiple U.S. sites, and you will be joining early to shape how manufacturing software is built at Anduril.ABOUT THE JOB As a Staff Product Manager for Manufacturing Software, you will lead product for the entirety of Maritime Digital Production. Rather than owning a single line of effort, you will set product vision and strategy across MDP's domains: the factory data platform, the manufacturing execution applications, the scheduling and optimization engine, and the AI systems that remove manual toil from the shop floor and business operations. You will be the senior product voice for the function, balancing investment across these domains, raising the product bar, and guiding the other product managers on the team.Product Leadership You set the product bar for the entire function. You mentor and guide other product managers, establish the product practices and standards the team works to, and create clarity across domains so that individual owners can move fast without losing the thread of the broader strategy. You lead through influence rather than authority, earning trust with engineering, operations, and leadership across MDP.Product Strategy You can "see around the corner" for the function, crafting the vision, portfolio roadmap, and critical dependencies well beyond the current cycle. You constantly engage with stakeholders and leadership to solicit input and buy-in, proactively communicating goals and managing expectations. You escalate and own the largest tradeoffs and decision points across the portfolio.Product Prioritization You work backward from strategy to set clear outcomes across domains in partnership with your engineering, design, and operations leaders. You build the structures that let multiple teams prioritize competing work within rapid development cycles, and you keep the portfolio adaptable as new information arrives.Problem Discovery and Solution Generation You become attached to problems, not solutions. You seek out real-world context through onsite user research on the factory floor, direct conversations with technicians and operators, internal expert feedback, existing product data, and industry investigation. You separate what a customer asks for from what a customer actually needs, capture core workflows, and translate them into well-scoped requirements and success hypotheses across the portfolio.Product Execution From design to delivery, you fill gaps wherever needed to make well-scoped solutions a reality across the function. You proactively communicate with teams and leadership, approach solutions with humility and creativity to hit milestones, and set a high bar for how products are deployed, adopted, and supported on the floor.WHAT YOU'LL DOSetting product vision and multi-year strategy across all of Maritime Digital Production, and making the portfolio-level tradeoffs about where the function invests across its domainsOwning the cross-domain roadmap and prioritization, resolving competing demands between factory data, manufacturing execution, scheduling and optimization, and AI initiativesGathering and refining both functional requirements and non-functional requirements such as tool capacity, performance, and reliability, and setting the standard for how requirements are captured and prioritized across the teamCommunicating across stakeholders and senior leadership, and exercising the judgment to tell whether a stakeholder truly needs what they are asking for or whether the underlying problem is better solved another wayWalking the factory floor, talking directly with technicians and operators about how their work is going, and turning what you hear into opportunities to fix and improve the products across the portfolioNavigating the organizational dynamics between Maritime Digital Production and partner platform teams, advocating from the customer point of view when Maritime's needs differ from how a platform team would prefer to buildAligning and collaborating with the Corporate Technology product organization, keeping the Maritime product roadmap in sync with and aware of the broader CorpTech product roadmap so the two organizations move in step on shared platforms, standards, and dependenciesREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS12+ years in a software product management role or similar leading role in product development, including experience owning a portfolio or leading product across multiple teams or domainsDemonstrated ability to set product vision and strategy at a functional or organizational level and drive it through multiple teamsExperience mentoring or guiding other product managers and establishing product practices and standardsDomain expertise within hardware-related industries such as manufacturing, supply chain, warehousing, or logisticsDemonstrated ability to gather and refine both functional and non-functional requirements (such as capacity, performance, and reliability) and turn them into a prioritized backlogStrong understanding of the interplay between enterprise systems, including ERP, WMS, MES, PLM, and supplier portalsExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence engineers, operations stakeholders, and senior leadership, and to judge whether a request reflects a real underlying needDemonstrated success working directly with end users in operational environments, including time spent on a production or factory floor observing workflows firsthandAbility to navigate cross-team and cross-department dynamics, representing the customer point of view and building alignment when priorities differExperience aligning a product roadmap with a partner or platform organization, keeping priorities in sync across groups that share technology and dependenciesDemonstrated success decomposing complex problems into addressable component parts and arranging the correct sequencing across teamsProven ability to "see around corners" by crafting product strategy well beyond the current development cycleComfort maturing products from MVP to enterprise-grade production at scaleMust be able to travel up to 25% of the timeU.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export controlled dataEligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearancePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience building or owning manufacturing execution systems (MES), shop floor control systems, or operational software for factory, warehouse, or field environmentsHands-on experience in manufacturing industries with time spent on assembly lines or in production facilities working directly with operators and techniciansExperience with UI / UX web design tools (e.g. Figma)Familiarity with frontier AI tooling and AI-assisted software development workflowsExperience in hyper-growth startup-like environments, balancing speed, ambiguity, and long-term platform healthBackground in operations research, industrial engineering, lean manufacturing, or continuous improvement methodologiesExperience leading product across multiple domains or lines of effort within a single function or organizationExperience supporting multi-site product rollouts, change management, and user training programsUS Salary Range $191,000 - $253,000 USD The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.
