Job Title Non-OSU Student Research Assistant Location McPherson Chemical Laboratory (0053) Position Type Temporary (Fixed Term) Shift First Shift Scheduled Hours 5 Department Arts and Sciences | Astronomy-JM Responsibilities Work with designated faculty or supervisor on specific astronomy projects related to research or outreach within the field of astronomy and astrophysics. Conduct research, develop activities, and workshops for professional development to provide experience working as a professional in the field. Read journal articles, perform computer coding, technical writing, verbal/visual/written communication, data analysis, statistics, and other tasks within the scope of the program. Qualifications Astronomy, Physics, or Engineering background as determined by the projects they are selected for. Ability to apply academic knowledge from classes to real-world problems in research and outreach. Additional Information This position requires a successful completion of a background check; a drug screen or physical test may be required during the post‑offer process.
