Grounds Equipment Operator

Title: Grounds Equipment Operator Department: DT Physical Plant Campus Location: Southeast Campus Employee Classification: POP - Plant Operations Position Type: FT - Regular Grant Funded: No Compensation Details: Starting Pay - $41,800 Work Hours: Monday - Friday 6:00am - 3:00pm Remote Eligible: This position is not eligible for remote work Job Summary: Reporting to the assigned department leader, this role is responsible for maintaining the grounds of an assigned portion of the campus. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Performance Requirements* Cuts lawns, trims and edges around walks, flower beds, and walls Prunes shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth; removes damaged leaves, branches, or twigs Cleans grounds and removes litter Plants trees and shrubs Cleans out drainage ditches and culverts Operates front-end loader and backhoe Makes minor repairs on equipment such as lawn mower and spreader Service Excellence Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC) Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College Supervision Works under the general supervision of the assigned department leader *Performs Other Related Tasks as Required The duties listed are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. Required Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or GED and three (3) years' working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements, or any equivalent combination of education and work-related experience Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Skilled with operating motor driven equipment and mechanically inclined Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal relationships Physical Demands and Work Environment: Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representatives of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
