Job Overview Manager in Training – Operations – Hibbett Retail, Inc. Location: Metairie, LA (Lafreniere Plaza). Hourly: $10.35. Reports To: Store Manager. This role assists the Store Manager with overall operations and administrative duties, using knowledge of all product areas within the store. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assist the Store Manager in controlling store assets. Consult with the Store Manager to establish action plans for departmental and overall store responsibilities such as selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling. Assume responsibility for the entire store in the Manager’s absence. Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers across all departments. Monitor inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability. Direct staff to ensure departmental responsibilities and standards are completed. Inform the Store Manager about inventory movement and customer trends. Maintain quality customer service. Perform general administrative duties as needed and in the Manager’s scope. Deliver outstanding customer service as outlined in the customer service manual, including greeting customers and assisting multiple customers during peak periods. Promote and sell services and merchandise offered by Hibbett I City Gear. Adhere to all Hibbett I City Gear policies, procedures, and standards detailed in the operations, personnel, visual, and customer service manuals and company memos. Protect company assets and financial information by ensuring accurate internal controls and reporting potential fraud risk. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Supervise employees in the Store Manager’s absence. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in line with organizational policies and applicable laws. Interview, train, plan, assign, direct work, and resolve problems concerning staff. QUALIFICATIONS Experience in a retail environment, preferably footwear and athletic apparel. 1–3 years of customer service experience. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment. Ability to assist in managing a team and meet overall goals and profitability. Self‑starter with initiative to take on important tasks without prompting. Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks with precision. Team‑player passionate about outstanding customer service and merchandise sales.
