Retail Assistant Store Manager $22.13 to $23.03 per hour Commission: up to 8% on transactions, possibly an additional $5.38 per hour on top of your hourly rate. Reports To Store Manager Supervisory Responsibility Pawnbrokers or Sales & Loan Associates, in absence of Store Manager Position Summary Accountable for day‑to‑day store operations, promoting a positive and productive environment. The Assistant Store Manager partners with the Store Manager to lead and develop store employees, recruit and retain top talent, maximize financial goals, and manage customer relations and satisfaction. Works to ensure financial goals are met, commits to asset protection, and uses internal and external marketing tools to promote the store and acquire new customers. General Duties and Responsibilities Facilitate a customer‑centric environment by engaging customers and addressing issues rapidly. Monitor and assist in training Pawnbrokers or Sales and Loan Associates to meet FirstCash standards. Recruit top talent through company‑prescribed channels. Perform management‑level opening and closing procedures, including counting cash drawers and merchandise, and ensuring procedures are followed. Ensure asset protection through inventory control, property safety procedures, documentation, and securing customer loans. Administer store processes and procedures, including inventory, loan management, merchandising, store presentation, store systems, and enterprise‑level reporting. Receive, evaluate, lift, carry, move, and secure customer merchandise for pawn, buy, and retail transactions. Evaluate store financial statements and drive profitability through communication and goal setting. Ensure operating standards meet or exceed FirstCash standards. Monitor loan qualification and buy processes to ensure value and integrity of all loans issued. Complete assigned tasks and training for self‑development. Communicate clearly to employees so they understand store mission and profit objectives. Remain up to date on product knowledge. Conduct inventory transfers and make remote bank deposits. Act as manager on duty in absence of Store Manager. Other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Regular attendance and punctuality are essential. High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience). Minimum 18 years of age (minimum 21 years of age for WA). Valid driver’s license. Demonstrated ability to supervise others. Entrepreneurial spirit. Strong desire to serve customers, work with people, and be team oriented. Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment. Cash handling experience required. High‑energy sales personality with knowledge of jewelry and general merchandise. Detail oriented with strong organizational skills. Solid written and verbal communication skills. Analytical skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent work ethic and strong business sense. Computer literate and able to use common office machines. Ability to become certified to work with firearms and become a listed Responsible Person for a Federal Firearms License with the ATF as needed. Work Location Primarily indoors. Physical Demands/Requirements This position requires the ability to safely lift, carry, and move customer merchandise during normal business operations. The job requires the ability to independently lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 70 pounds. No tools are used routinely; jeweler’s tools may be used occasionally.
