Job Description and Duties

THIS IS A BILINGUAL POSITION. CANDIDATES MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A BILINGUAL-SPANISH FLUENCY EXAMINATION.

Under supervision of the Housing Finance Officer (Single Family), the Management Services Technician performs a variety of duties related to the servicing of CalHFA subordinate loans and reconveyances to support the operations of the Single Family Loan Administration Unit.

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

• Fluency in Spanish is required
• Experience with customer service
• Experience with answering phone calls
• Experience preparing documents for internal and external stakeholders

Working Conditions

Hybrid telework schedules are available. The amount of telework is at CalHFA’s discretion and is based on operational needs.  IN-PERSON ATTENDANCE WILL BE REQUIRED WEEKLY .

Our office is in 500 Capitol Mall , a high-rise building conveniently located in downtown Sacramento with access to public transportation (light rail and bus) and freeways (I-5, 99, and Business 80). It is one block from Downtown Commons (DOCO), the Golden 1 Center, and many restaurants. Employees also have free access to the gym located in the building.

Candidates who are new to state service will be placed at the minumum of the salary range . Bilingual position is eligible for additional pay monthly.

Special Requirements

• The position(s) require(s) fluency in the Spanish language. If the State of California does not have a current record documenting your fluency in this language, you will be required to successfully pass an approved language fluency test prior to being hired.

In order to be considered for this job, you must satisfy one of the following requirements:

BE LIST ELIGIBLE :
Successfully complete the State civil service exam for the Management Services Technician classification

OR

BE TRANSFER ELIGIBLE:
Have current employment with the State of California in the same classification or in a classification that is comparable (employees who wish to be considered based on transfer eligibility must meet the minimum qualifications of the classification per DPA Rule 250)

OR

BE REINSTATEMENT ELIGIBLE: 
Have obtained previous permanent employment with the State of California in the same classification or in a classification that is comparable.

Minimum Qualifications

Management Services Technician

Either I

One year of experience performing the duties of a Management Services Assistant. (Applicants who have completed six months of service performing the duties as specified above will be admitted to the examination, but they must complete one year of this experience before they can be eligible for appointment.

Or II

One year of experience in the California state service performing duties at a level of responsibility equivalent to that of Office Assistant (General), Range B.

Or III
Sixty semester or 90 quarter units of college.
