We believe these aspirations in support of our longer-term business strategy allow us to contribute to a future that is truly Worth Reaching For.Position Summary :Under minimal supervision, the Cost Accountant, will be responsible for completing cost accounting activities for the Wine & Spirits Division entities to maintain a complete and accurate general ledger in accordance with U.S. GAAP. This individual will be responsible for completing monthly cost accounting activities and will also function as a key support role to business partners. This includes all activities related to the global accounting function: close procedures, preparation, review and analysis, maintaining a strong control environment and other activities necessary to support consolidated financial statements. The Cost Accountant must exhibit agility as we are a fast-paced working environment.Responsibilities:Primary functions of cost accounting include: Ensure accurate and timely preparation of cost accounting reports, including cost of goods sold (COGS), inventory valuation, and variance analysisAnalyze costs of inventory, COGS, identify trends, and provide insightsCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, supply chain, and finance, to drive cost efficiencies and support strategic initiativesResponsible for preparation of monthly accounting close procedures to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal controls, as well as the accuracy of financial statements. Specific month-end close activities include: Collaboration with business partners outside of accounting to accumulate support needed for journal entry preparationPreparation of journal entries for operating companies, as well as consolidation and elimination entriesReview of trial balances and monthly and quarterly trends; perform additional review as needed to support the closeAnalysis and review of operating company financial statements, both foreign and domesticPreparation of high-quality balance sheet account reconciliationsPreparation and presentation of quarterly analysis deliverablesSupport a sustainable and efficient close and reporting process with a continuous improvement mindset.Preparation of quarterly external reporting deliverables and support of internal and external audit requirements.Qualifications:1-3 years of experience in public accounting and/or relevant industry experience (combination preferred) is requiredBachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent requiredCPA certification or equivalent strongly preferredProficiency in Excel required; experience with SAP and OneStream a plusAbility to thrive in a rapidly changing environment, managing multiple prioritiesKnowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial statements; experience working with publicly traded companies a plusStrong written and verbal communication skillsADA Physical/Mental/Workplace Requirements:Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.Sitting, working at desk/personal computer for extended periods of timeAbility to travel domestically and internationallyLocation: Rochester, New YorkJob Type: Full timeJob Area: Finance & AccountingThe salary range for this role is: $63,200.00 - $92,800.00Equal OpportunityConstellation Brands is committed to a continuing program of equal employment opportunity.
