Financial Analyst

Location: Reston, VA (Onsite)

Pay Rate: $34/hour W2

Shift: M-F regular business hours (40 hours a week)

Duration: 12-Month Contract (Potential Extension)

Apex Systems is seeking a Financial Analyst to support a global technology organization focused on cybersecurity and digital risk management initiatives. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with budgets, forecasting, financial reporting, and cross-functional business partners in a fast-paced environment.

You'll work closely with Finance, Procurement, and business leaders to monitor spending, support forecasting activities, manage financial operations, and provide visibility into budget performance across multiple initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Analyze budget versus actual spending and identify trends, risks, and variances
• Support forecasting, accruals, budgeting, and financial reporting processes
• Track project and vendor spend against approved budgets, purchase orders, and contracts
• Assist with invoice processing, purchase requisitions, and financial documentation
• Partner with Finance and Procurement teams to ensure accurate financial tracking and reporting
• Consolidate and analyze financial data to support business decisions and planning activities
• Prepare reports and presentations for leadership and key stakeholders
• Help identify opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting efficiency

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field
• Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, or business operations
• Strong understanding of financial analysis, variance reporting, and budget management
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Experience with SAP, Ariba, or similar financial systems preferred
• Experience with Power BI or other reporting and analytics tools is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across multiple teams
