Job Details Level: Entry Job Location: IDX Coppell TX Site - Coppell, TX 75019 Position Type: Full Time Education Level: High School Job Category: Biotech Responsibilities Take photomicrographs of specimen areas of interest for inclusion on final pathology report. Perform Quality Control (QC) functions during image capture to ensure slides and tissue types match and correlate with gross description, all pertinent slides are present, specimen type field matches gross, applicable upfront levels and stains were ordered, and gross description accuracy. Assist in identifying and researching discrepancy cases, determine origin of variance under supervision of the PA Supervisor. Perform QC checks of controls submitted with patient cases for specific TCPC clients to ensure accuracy of immunohistochemistry staining. Prioritize and triage cases based on laboratory procedural manual. Identify potential problems that could adversely affect test performance or reporting, immediately notify appropriate supervisor or director. Perform additional Quality Assurance tests as required and maintain documentation and logs. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive patient, physician, employee, client, vendor, and company information. Report all concerns regarding quality, patient care, or employee safety to a supervisor or safety officer. Maintain a clean work environment. Demonstrate understanding of Laboratory Information Systems. Assist as needed with related duties and special projects. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree in the sciences strongly preferred. One to three years of previous experience in a gastrointestinal or dermatopathology laboratory is preferred. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. High level of attention to detail and care with technical data interpretation and troubleshooting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic internet use. Capacity to multi‑task and work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment. Drive for results, ensuring procedures and processes lead to high quality outcomes and continuous improvement. Teamwork and commitment to collaborative success. Customer service focus, listening to client needs and exceeding expectations. Willingness to work shift work, overtime, and accommodate flexible schedules as required by business needs. Travel required: rarely; weekends/evens/holidays: no.
