Engineering Manager

Job Description The Sustaining Engineering Manager will be based out of our St. Louis, MO facility and will lead a team of engineers in St. Louis and other North American manufacturing locations. The Manager will oversee engineers solving operational issues, support quality issues arising from customer returns, develop cost‑reduction plans for existing customers, and help support VA/VE initiatives on products in production. This position reports to the Vice President of R&D Engineering. Responsibilities Supervise and lead engineers/technicians in meeting key objectives Develop processes to improve workflow related to Sustaining Engineering Confront and help resolve operational issues at the manufacturing facilities Communicate directly with customers on quality issues impacting delivery or field exposure Coordinate customer responses with the team in written form or via physical presence at customer sites Lead, direct, and review work from the team intended for customers for accuracy and clarity Host regular meetings to review active projects with the Sustaining Engineering team Coordinate content for executive‑level reporting when required Manage all aspects of administrative duties related to the team Prepare content related to cost‑reduction summaries, outlining benefits and cost impacts Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronics required At least 5 years of experience supervising personnel Strong supervisory and leadership skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong mechanical aptitude Excellent time‑management skills Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite Familiarity with CAD/PLM systems as they relate to product development Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills Travel Both domestic and international travel up to 20% Language English required, Spanish a plus Additional Job Details Nidec is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and affirmative action employer encouraging diversity in the workplace.
