About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to play a pivotal role in the advancement and protection of a critical national asset. The successful candidate will be responsible for embedding operational excellence, particularly in the handling of a licensing scheme, and shaping and delivering on strategy in a dynamic and innovative environment. This includes oversight of specialist operational functions such as information technology and security, domain name system operations, and project management. The COO will also be instrumental in crafting the organization's strategic plan, driving innovation, and ensuring a high level of service to the community. Applicants for the COO position at the company should be accomplished and authentic operational executive leaders with a background in complex, sensitive, and high-volume environments. Experience in critical infrastructure, technology-driven sectors, or telecommunications and digital economy organizations is highly valued. The role requires a leader who is adept at managing large projects, delivering milestones, and effectively managing change. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader, an approachable communicator, and a champion of innovation and continuous improvement. Responsibilities also include nurturing a values-based culture, fostering innovation, and mentoring the team. The COO will work closely with the CEO and external stakeholders, including government and the local and international internet community, to ensure the organization's mission is met.
