Maintenance Supervisor, Nights

Position Description Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Supervisor Maintenance is responsible for providing leadership for the maintenance functions, ensuring proper preventive maintenance of the physical plant and all operating equipment, electrical troubleshooting, minimizing equipment downtime to provide maximum production capacity, and compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety regulations. Shift Nights, 2-2-3 continental schedule Essential Job Functions PPE requirements. Adhere to and ensure compliance with food quality and food safety standards (e.g., SQF) as per corporate, customer, or governing bodies. Leads and directs the work of other employees. Has authority for personnel decisions related to hiring, performance, or disciplinary actions. Continuously improves manufacturing processes in terms of quality, performance measurements, and identifies and eliminates bottlenecks. Ensures reliability of plant and equipment operation while optimizing maintenance and operation costs and meeting safety and environmental regulations. Identifies and solves safety concerns encountered during the design and study of manufacturing processes. Develops hands‑on improvement processes to reduce scrap and defects, improves throughput, documents SOPs, and implements best practices; assists in coordinating the installation of new equipment to maximize production efficiency and maintainability. Works with production to modify equipment and work areas for maximum efficiency. Maintains a knowledge base regarding existing utilities and current utilization levels. Stays abreast of safety, environmental, and other regulatory changes affecting the facility. Supports the Maintenance Manager in overseeing equipment and facility maintenance to maximize asset utilization. Implements and ensures compliance with systems designed by the manager, focusing on execution and direct oversight. Assists in keeping written environmental compliance documentation current. Prepares reports to satisfy environmental and safety regulations and maintain a safe, professional work environment. Reviews, evaluates, counsels, disciplines, and discharges employees as necessary to meet productivity requirements. Evaluates and recommends improvements to product manufacturability. Ensures compliance with all OHSA, environmental, regulatory, and corporate standards; investigates root causes of non‑compliance. Accounts for a safe working environment through strategies focused on accident reduction, energy conservation, and waste minimization. Oversees effective deployment of human resources throughout the plant and ensures correct administration of the collective bargaining agreement (if applicable). Requirements Education and experience: Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent required; undergraduate degree in a related field preferred. 5‑7 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing facility. Required Skills Proficient in Excel, Word, SAP, and PowerPoint. Proven leadership experience in a production environment. Strong team player capable of working across multiple functions. Ability to analyze and solve problems and results‑oriented. Ability to work under deadline pressures. Organized, detail‑oriented, adaptable to change. Leading culture of empowerment through trust, courageous daily leadership, and inspiring growth. Understanding of quality standards and implementation of quality control measures. Experience in continuous improvement through lean principles, team feedback, and CI events (Kaizen). Skilled in troubleshooting process and equipment issues to minimize downtime and waste. Accurate documentation skills for recording production data and maintaining organized records. Ensures OSHA, environmental, and corporate compliance; timely completion of monthly training. Effective communication with direct reports and all organizational levels; follows escalation processes. Decision‑making and judgment with limited data and learning from outcomes. Coaching others, building relationships, offering praise and recognition. Ownership—proactively takes initiative and responsibility for tasks and challenges. Innovative problem‑solving and continuous improvement advocacy. Optimizes production schedules by prioritizing tasks and minimizing downtime to meet deadlines.
