Senior Bridge Engineer

Are you a bridge engineer with a passion for designing and delivering complex infrastructure projects? A leading, employee-owned engineering firm is looking for a Senior Transportation Bridge Design Manager to lead bridge design and project delivery across the Southeast. This is a hands‑on leadership role managing DOT and municipal bridge projects, from concept through construction, while mentoring a team of talented engineers. What You’ll Do Lead bridge design projects from concept through construction, including steel, concrete, and prestressed concrete structures Oversee multidisciplinary bridge design teams, ensuring compliance with AASHTO LRFD, DOT, and local standards Review and approve structural calculations, plans, and specifications Serve as the primary client liaison for bridge project delivery and technical performance Mentor and develop junior bridge engineers and project managers Support proposal development and technical leadership to grow the business Manage budgets, schedules, and delivery of multiple complex bridge projects What You’ll Bring Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering Professional Engineer (PE) license in South Carolina 10–15 years of bridge engineering experience, including leadership of DOT or municipal bridge projects Deep experience in steel, concrete, and prestressed concrete bridge design, inspection, and load rating Strong knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications, AASHTO Manual for Bridge Evaluation, and bridge evaluation processes Proficiency in design and analysis software: AASHTOWare (BrR/D), Midas Civil, STAAD, LEAP Concrete & Steel, Microstation, OpenBridge, AutoCAD, Civil 3D NBIS certification and experience with state DOT bridge standards are a plus Proven ability to manage technical teams, budgets, and schedules Why This Opportunity Join a well-established, employee‑owned firm with a century of impact on transportation infrastructure.
