Open position Position: Mortgage Loan Officer Location: Corporate Office in Metairie, LA Job Id: 413 # of Openings: 1 Scope and responsibilities Increase OnPath’s mortgage lending by assisting customers from loan application through closing. Conduct daily business interactions aligned with OnPath’s mission and core values. Encourage and develop teamwork, lead by example, and take initiative. Promote and maintain a positive image of the credit union to members and the community. Participate in community outreach and volunteer opportunities. Meet and exceed loan production standards set annually based on credit union goals. Actively cross‑sell additional products and services. Coordinate all aspects of the mortgage loan application process. Maintain professional, respectful communication with peers, members, and management. Comply with NMLS requirements and perform required training. Develop strategic business partners to create a referral network. Prospect daily to increase networking and contacts (face‑to‑face and telephone). Build relationships with customers and members to provide appropriate products and services. Participate in OnPath-sponsored events and education classes. Keep promises and build trust by acting consistently with words and actions. Stay informed on OnPath products and services. Knowledge and skills Preferred: three-year previous mortgage origination experience. Preferred education: bachelor’s degree or comparable experience in sales and/or real estate. Excellent interpersonal skills and strong oral, written, and listening skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; database management preferred. Experience with CALYX or other Mortgage Loan Origination System. Knowledge of the mortgage and/or real estate market a plus. Strong work ethic, quality team player, and foundational sales skills. Physical and workplace requirements Employee must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, and perform routine office tasks. Must be able to work in a climate‑controlled shared workspace with minimal noise.
