Environmental Specialist III
DGS Office of External Affairs
The Environmental Specialist III conducts environmental site inspections for the Florida Department of Health to ensure compliance with state and local laws, with a focus on Onsite Sewage Treatment and Disposal Systems (OSTDS), well construction, and beach water quality monitoring across Broward County. The role involves plan review, permit issuance and denial, field inspections, water sampling, GPS data collection, and technical reporting, working independently under general supervision. This is an internal agency opportunity available only to current Department of Health employees. Key qualifications: Ability to operate auger, soil probe, laser level, GPS data logger, and chlorine test kit Knowledge of inspection processes and environmental compliance standards Ability to collect, evaluate, and analyze scientific and technical data Ability to prepare technical reports and legal notices Knowledge of rules, laws, and techniques pertaining to water pollution and environmental concerns #J-18808-Ljbffr
