Pilgrim's CDL Driver PositionThe role of a CDL driver serves the company by transporting commercial goods and materials and deliver as instructed with a primary focus on safety and efficiency.Responsibilities:Operates commercial trucks safely and with a conscious effort to transport fragile loadsOperates forklift loading trucks at contract growers in a safe & efficient mannerPre-trip inspectionsLoading and unloading of chicksMake sure fans and ventilation are working properlyPick up eggs from each grower farm twice a week and keep consistent schedule for each farmLoading and unloading of eggsTruck should be unloaded, washed, and disinfected by end of each dayPerforms equipment inspections in accordance with company guidelines and equipment operating instructions to maintain compliance with CSA 2010. Reports all problems to the supervisor.Follows packers and stock yards guidelines for weighing live poultry.Follows truck tarping guidelines during periods of inclement weather.Observe & enforce all company personnel, quality, safety, and food safety policies.Maintains a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you work effectively and cooperatively with customers, clients, coworkers, and leadership teams.Participates in process improvement and problem solving utilizing continuous improvement and rational thinking methodologies.Recognizes and acts on incidents and safety risks. Consistently practices, and enforces safe work habits and drives those habits throughout the organizationDriver may be asked to drive for other hatcheries, feedmill, live haul, move pullets, move loaders, etc.Basic Qualifications:Knowledge of driving and traffic rulesSome mechanical skillAbility to lift up to 100 PoundsAbility to work under dusty adverse conditionsValid Class A driver's license is requiredMust possess a good driving record with a minimum of 3 years driving experienceMust possess a valid class A license with 0 - 12 months experience.Work Environment:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a team member encounters while performing the essential function of this job.
