Overview

The Credentialing Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring that healthcare providers meet the necessary qualifications and standards required for practice within our organization. This position involves managing the credentialing process for new and existing providers, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements, and facilitating communication between various departments to ensure timely and accurate credentialing.

Duties

• Review and verify credentials of healthcare providers, including education, training, licensure, and certifications.
• Maintain accurate records of all credentialing activities in accordance with established standards and policies.
• Collaborate with medical staff and department heads to gather necessary documentation for credentialing applications.
• Ensure compliance with managed care requirements and accreditation standards throughout the credentialing process.
• Conduct regular audits of provider credentials to ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Assist in the development and implementation of credentialing policies and procedures.
• Respond to inquiries related to provider credentials from internal staff and external agencies as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a medical office setting preferred.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare standards.
• Familiarity with managed care processes is a plus.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with healthcare professionals and staff.
• Proficiency in using computer systems for data entry and record management.
