Middle School Head Coach Volleyball

Job Details Job Location: Liberty Educational Ministries, Incorporated - Argyle, TX 76226 Position Type: Seasonal Job Category: Coach Position Purpose The position supports the Varsity Head Coach in carrying out assigned responsibilities in the Middle School assigned sport. Major Responsibilities and Duties Instructs athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success. Provides instruction that will lead to the formulation of moral values, strong work ethic, responsibility, teamwork, sportsmanship, self-discipline, leadership, and self-confidence. Maintains discipline and works to increase morale and cooperation within the school athletic program and school community. Supervises all practices, games, team trips, locker rooms, and all athletic facilities. Continues to educate self on the technical aspects of the assigned sport with a willingness to continue to learn and examine new ideas pertinent to the assigned sport or coaching in general. Collaborates with the Varsity Head Coach in uniform and equipment maintenance and inventory. Works within the policies within the athletic department and school to address issues or concerns. Updates the Varsity Head Coach frequently during season about any issues, concerns, or highlights. Develops a daily practice plan. Adheres to TAPPS rules and regulations and keeps current on changes. Attend all sports specific TAPPS meetings. Adheres to the Student Protection Policy (SPP) procedures and training. Responsibilities and tasks outlined in this document are not exhaustive and may change as determined by the needs of the Athletic Department and/or Varsity Head Coach. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Demonstrated leadership and facilitative skills. CPR Certified. Preferred coaching experience in assigned sport. Serve as a Christian role model. Physical Requirements and Work Environment Ability to function well in an environment with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and a varied and diverse array of contacts. May work at a desk and computer for extended periods of time. Regularly use close and distance vision. May stand for extended periods of time. Works primarily in a traditional climate-controlled office environment. May work outside in extreme weather conditions of heat and cold. Lift to 50 lbs. Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and written). Ability to instruct and model desirable skills and attitude. Ability to remain productive and maintain control under stress.
