Details Work in a 19-bed neuro ICU within a hospital setting Unit cares for CVA, neurosurgical, carotid surgery, and carotid stent patients Supports the hospital's comprehensive stroke program for patients requiring critical care placement Also cares for surgical post-op, cardiac intervention, sepsis, general surgery, and complex ICU patients Third shift schedule with 3x12-hour night shifts 36 hours per week at 0.9 FTE Requirements Active, unrestricted KY or compact RN license Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation required ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred No prior nursing experience required, though previous experience is preferred Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety devices Additional Information Provide direct patient care including nursing rounds, assessments, and treatments for critically ill ICU patients Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities along with patient and family-centered education Coordinate individualized treatment planning and care coordination with the inter-professional team Delegate and oversee tasks performed by other care team members Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities, including patient satisfaction, falls, pressure ulcers, and CAUTI prevention Promote a positive, healing environment through effective communication and teamwork First-time travelers are welcome to apply American Traveler Job ID P-724282.
