Job DescriptionJob DescriptionProcess Engineer (Permanent) Location: Monroe, MichiganDuration: Full time permanentPotential: Opportunity to transition into a permanent position based on business needs and performance.Shift: Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PMOverviewWe are seeking a hands-on Process Engineer to join a growing manufacturing operation on a permanent basis. This role offers the opportunity to become a permanent member of the team for the right candidate.You'll play a key role in improving manufacturing processes, supporting production, and driving continuous improvement projects. This position requires someone who enjoys spending time on the shop floor, working closely with production teams, and turning engineering ideas into practical manufacturing solutions.Key Responsibilities Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, quality, and productivityLead process optimization projects using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologiesDevelop and implement process improvements through data analysis and Design of Experiments (DOE)Create engineering drawings, tooling concepts, fixtures, and manufacturing documentationSupport production teams by troubleshooting manufacturing and process-related issuesCoordinate projects and activities across Engineering, Production, Maintenance, and Quality departmentsDevelop and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and engineering standardsProvide strong technical support during new process implementation and equipment improvementsMaintain a visible presence on the manufacturing floor, driving process ownership and continuous improvementRequirements Bachelor's Degree in Plastics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related disciplineSix Sigma Green Belt (or higher) with practical experience using Design of Experiments (DOE)Strong understanding of heat transfer, thermodynamics, cooling rates, material shrinkage, and internal stress within manufacturing processesExperience with Autodesk products, including AutoCAD and InventorAbility to create detailed engineering drawings for machine shop fabrication and manufacturing applicationsStrong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple departmentsHands-on mechanical aptitude with experience developing tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing solutionsExperience creating and maintaining manufacturing process documentationPreferred Experience Experience in one or more of the following manufacturing processes is highly desirable:Plastics manufacturingExtrusionInjection moldingCompression moldingPTFE extrusionSintering operationsHeat treatingCastingAnnealingProcess control and continuous improvement initiativesWhat We're Looking For We're looking for a proactive engineer who enjoys solving manufacturing challenges and making a visible impact on the production floor.
