Counter Sales

Durham & Taylor Supply is looking for a dependable, hardworking person to join our team in Counter Sales . This is a hands-on customer service and sales position. You'll work directly with contractors, drivers, and customers who come through our doors every day. We're looking for someone who isn't afraid to pick up the phone, ask questions, learn our products, and help customers get what they need to keep their jobs moving. You don't have to know everything about precast concrete on day one — we can teach the products. What we need is someone with a good attitude, strong work ethic, common sense, and a willingness to learn. PAY & BENEFITS Competitive compensation based on experience Health insurance Paid time off Paid holidays Stable, year-round work Opportunity to learn, grow, and build a career with an established company WHAT YOU'LL DO Help customers at the counter and over the phone Take and enter customer orders accurately Answer questions about products, pricing, availability, and lead times Help customers figure out what products they need for their jobs Prepare quotes and follow up with customers Work with our production, yard, and delivery teams to make sure orders are ready and correct Communicate with customers about order status, pickups, and deliveries Learn our precast concrete products and become comfortable discussing them with customers Build relationships with our regular contractors and customers Handle order paperwork and basic computer work Jump in and help wherever needed — we're a team, and no two days are exactly the same WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Dependable and shows up ready to work Comfortable talking with contractors and customers Good communication skills and phone etiquette Able to multitask without letting things fall through the cracks Detail-oriented when entering orders, quantities, and pricing Willing to learn and ask questions Able to work well with the office, yard, production, and delivery crews Basic computer skills Construction or building supply experience is a plus, but not required Precast concrete, utility, plumbing, or underground construction knowledge is a big plus THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THIS JOB We're not looking for someone who wants to sit behind a desk and wait for the phone to ring.
