The MBA Intern supports the North America Brand Marketing Team in advancing brand and business growth through strategic analysis consumer and market insights and development of marketing initiatives. This role applies strong analytical and strategic thinking to help identify opportunities to strengthen brand performance improve customer relevance and support growth across Valvoline Globals North America business.

The intern works across functions to evaluate market dynamics competitive activity customer and consumer needs and business performance. The role translates complex information into actionable insights and recommendations and provides exposure to strategic marketing decisions and senior leadership.

How You Make an Impact (Job Accountabilities)

Brand & Marketing Strategy

• Support development and execution of brand and marketing strategies aligned with North America business priorities.
• Evaluate market category consumer customer and competitive trends to identify opportunities for brand growth.
• Help translate business objectives into clear marketing priorities strategies and initiatives.
• Support strategic projects that influence brand positioning portfolio priorities customer engagement and overall marketing effectiveness.

Consumer & Market Insights

• Conduct structured analysis of consumer customer category and market information to identify trends opportunities and emerging needs.
• Assess competitive positioning brand activity product offerings pricing promotions and other relevant market dynamics.
• Synthesize insights from multiple sources and translate findings into clear implications for the brand and business.
• Identify opportunities to improve customer and consumer relevance based on available data and research.

Marketing Performance & Opportunity Analysis

• Analyze marketing and business performance to identify opportunities trends and areas requiring additional focus.
• Develop fact-based assessments of marketing opportunities including potential business impact strategic fit and execution considerations.
• Partner with Finance and other cross-functional stakeholders to evaluate opportunities and support prioritization.
• Help develop recommendations and success measures for strategic marketing initiatives.

Marketing Initiatives & Execution

• Support planning and development of brand marketing initiatives and campaigns.
• Contribute to project development by helping define objectives target audiences key messages measures of success and execution requirements.
• Partner with internal stakeholders and external agencies or partners as appropriate to advance marketing priorities.
• Help monitor progress and synthesize results to inform future marketing decisions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Collaborate with Brand Marketing Sales Finance Product/R&D Insights and other functions to develop well-rounded business recommendations.
• Build strong working relationships across functions and effectively communicate project findings and implications.
• Organize and synthesize input from multiple stakeholders to support informed decision-making.

Executive Communication

• Develop concise executive-ready presentations analyses and recommendations.
• Present findings and recommendations to marketing leadership and other senior stakeholders.
• Translate complex business and market information into clear compelling insights and actions.

Requirements:

• Candidate must have completed a bachelors degree and is currently enrolled in an MBA program
• Able to work fully in-office for the summer internship 2027. Located in Lexington KY.
