Senior Accountant

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to support month-end close, financial reporting, audit preparation, and complex general ledger activities for a San Francisco organization. This hybrid contract role requires someone who can quickly assess accounting issues and work independently with limited direction.ResponsibilitiesLead assigned portions of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close.Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.Analyze financial results and investigate material variances.Maintain supporting schedules for prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and accruals.Assist with financial statement preparation and management reporting.Support external audits by preparing schedules and responding to requests.Review accounting transactions for accuracy and GAAP compliance.Document accounting procedures and strengthen internal controls.Identify and implement improvements to close and reconciliation processes.Provide guidance and review support to junior accounting staff.
