Experienced HVAC Service Technician

1st Choice Pro Services is a family-owned plumbing, heating, air conditioning, and electrical company serving the South Metro Denver area. We are growing our HVAC department and are looking for an experienced HVAC Service Technician who knows how to diagnose problems correctly, communicate professionally with homeowners, and provide quality solutions.

This is not an entry-level position . We are looking for an experienced technician who can confidently run service calls independently.

What We're Looking For

EPA Certification is REQUIRED.

The ideal candidate will have:

• 3+ years of HVAC service experience preferred
• EPA Section 608 Certification required
• Strong residential HVAC diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Experience servicing furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and related residential HVAC equipment
• Ability to diagnose the actual cause of a system failure rather than simply treating the symptom
• Experience with electrical troubleshooting, refrigerant diagnostics, airflow, static pressure, and system performance
• Ability to explain findings and repair/replacement options clearly to homeowners
• Ability to identify additional legitimate system concerns while on a service call
• Strong documentation and job-summary skills
• Professional appearance and communication
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
• Ability to reliably commute to our Centennial shop
• Ability to work independently while knowing when to ask for technical assistance
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation

What You'll Be Doing

As an HVAC Service Technician, you will:

• Run residential HVAC service and diagnostic calls
• Perform complete system diagnostics
• Troubleshoot heating and cooling failures
• Perform HVAC repairs
• Check airflow, electrical components, refrigerant conditions, system operation, and other relevant components as necessary
• Provide customers with clear repair and replacement options
• Build estimates and document findings
• Take required jobsite photos
• Complete detailed job summaries
• Maintain your company vehicle and equipment
• Follow company processes and manufacturer specifications
• Help provide customers with a professional, high-quality experience from diagnosis through completion

What We Don't Want

We are not looking for someone who simply changes parts until the system starts working.

We want technicians who diagnose first, understand why the failure occurred, and provide the customer with the correct long-term solution.

Quality of work matters. Accurate diagnostics, low callback rates, customer satisfaction, professionalism, and production are all important measures of success in this position.

Compensation & Benefits

Earning Potential: $80,000–$175,000+ annually , depending on experience, performance, production, and compensation structure.

Automatic Screening Requirements

An applicant should not move forward for this Experienced HVAC Service Technician position if:

• They do not have EPA Section 608 Certification.
• They have no meaningful residential HVAC field experience.
• Their experience is primarily unrelated to HVAC service/diagnostics.
• They cannot meet the driver's license requirement.
• They cannot meet the required commute/work-location requirement.

Applicants who have strong HVAC experience but are slightly below the preferred experience level should be sent for manager review rather than automatically rejected .
