Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit - Travel Registered Nurse

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 22 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience worked in the last 3 years.

• Travel experience is preferred.

• Experience with Epic is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Ohio license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <60 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• 6 months gap required between for Any Contract Type at Program: Aya Program - James Cancer Hospital and Research and no current placement allowed at Program: Aya Program - James Cancer Hospital and Research.

Additional Details:

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

Required Skills/Experience: - IV starts, telemetry, and tracheostomy management. - Must meet experience requirements within the 3 most recent years. However, must have at least 1 year of CURRENT specialty experience for a clinical pass.

Preferred Skills/Experience: - Oncology experience preferred but not required.

Required Credentials: - Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.

Special Requests: - Cannot apply to any James Cancer Hospital and Research facility if you have an active application to another Ohio State University facility.

Unit Details: - Mixed acuity unit caring for PCU and Med-Surg patients. - Adult and geriatric patient population. - Head and neck cancers, neuro-oncology, and brain tumors. - Tracheostomy care including suctioning, general trach care, and changing the inner cannula. - Drain management - JP, Hemovacs.

Shift & Scheduling: - If you accept a 12D/N rotating contract, you may be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination of both, depending on the department’s needs. Shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period, but changes are not guaranteed and are based on staffing priorities at that time. - Self-schedule requests - you will enter your schedule requests so your preferred schedule can be reviewed before balancing and posting the final schedule. - First week of orientation is Mon - Fri day shift. Second week is 36 hours of on-unit orientation with a preceptor.

Floating Requirements: - Required to float to other Med-Surg Oncology units of equivalent or lower level of acuity.

• AUTO OFFER - NO INTERVIEW : This is an auto-offer position. You will likely not interview with the facility prior to receiving an offer. However, an interview can be arranged upon request. All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment. Any offers for this job will require a clear “Yes” or “No” response from the nurse within 24hrs or the offer must be declined.
