Reporting to the Purchasing Manager , the Buyer Direct will be responsible for coordinating activities involved with procuring direct materials, components and equipment. Responsibilities Maintaining relations with suppliers. Placing orders for necessary raw materials and purchased parts according to production requirements. Receiving and handling confirmations. Checking purchase orders and modifying them according to changes in the production plan using the Shortage List and Open Purchase Order List. Tracking shipments and expediting them if needed. Tracking material actions when required. Dealing with claims and settling payment issues. Filing and recording all necessary documents, maintaining data integrity and privacy. Coordinating with warehouse personnel to resolve inventory discrepancies. Ensuring all active components are procured on time, for the correct price, and in compliance with production needs. Consulting with vendors to obtain product information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule. Ordering, rescheduling, and canceling materials based on requisitions and MRP output. Managing supplier expectations for price, delivery, and quality, and escalating when appropriate. Approving invoices for payment. Performing other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 1–2 years of Procurement Buyer experience. Ability to present information effectively and address questions from various groups. Problem‑solving skills dealing with multiple variables. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Manufacturing experience required. Ensures compliance with industry standards.
